Students Who Have Completed Confident Learners
Progress Monitor now displays the number of students who have completed Confident Learners in several different reports. You can easily track student progress from the login page with its quick stats, on the balloon chart and the students by current challenge graph. Congratulations to the students who have completed all three phases!
Students by Current Challenge Updates
The Students by Current Challenge chart for school and district users has been updated for better usability, including a classroom selector drop-down. Clicking on a bar in the chart brings up a sortable list of students which contains more detail like classroom and a last assessed date.
Students by Current Challenge Chart for Teachers
The Students by Current Challenge chart is now available for teachers to help with instructional planning and grouping of students.
Grade Column Improvements
The grade column in the classroom chart will now be hidden by default if all students in the class are in the same grade. You can toggle this column using the button in the top-right corner of the chart.
Balloon Chart Design Update
The balloon chart has undergone a design update, improving the clarity of the benchmark descriptions and building in space for complete students. This makes it easier to interpret student progress and benchmarks at a glance.
Lesson Demonstration Videos
We’ve created a series of short demonstration videos that model the ‘watch me do it’ part of a structured lesson. These videos cover key foundational skills in reading instruction, including print concepts, letter knowledge, phonemic awareness, and phonics. They also demonstrate guided instruction with scaffolding, helping students learn effectively. More videos will be added in the future.
You can find these demonstration videos in the Becoming a Reader course within the LMS, or on YouTube: |

Systematic Reading Instruction: All Activities Posted
We’re pleased to announce that all 100 activities in the Systematic Reading Instruction course are now available. These activities offer additional practice and support, complementing the content already available in Becoming a Reader.
PARA: Fluency and Comprehension Transition Improvement
Based on your feedback, we’ve made a small reduction in the transition time between fluency and comprehension challenges in PARA I and PARA II. This change helps streamline the assessment process and improves overall flow.
